I've been playing around with the design of my blog (really nothing much that you would notice because I change most of it back...) and I've found these things called gadgets. Most of them are ads which I'm not real keen on adding right now, mostly because I'm not real sure what they will do to my blog. The purpose of this is for me to have some sanity while I'm adjusting to a new place. I don't really care about having the world find me or making money with my blog. I really just want to stay grounded and let my friends and family know that I'm ok and things are going well with me.
So anyway, back to the real purpose of this post...
I did find this one really cool gadget that I added to the layout of my blog. My mom found it and she tested it for me. I have some followers (thanks to you...I love you dearly!!!) but I don't really know what that means and what the benefit of being a follower is. This new gadget is just above the followers and it gives you the option to follow by email. This doesn't send me your email but what is does do is send my post to you via email. How cool is that???
There are a few drawbacks. For those that like to comment (I LOVE the comments) it doesn't give you that option. My mom said she couldn't view the pictures but when she forwarded me what she had received I saw the pictures just fine so it could depend on your email address. Also, I can see the stats of how many people are viewing my blog. It looked to me like there were links at the beginning of the email which could take you to the blog itself. This could take care of the comment issue and still show you as coming to my blog so I could still see the stats as they have been. What can I say? Even though I'm not out to be found it makes me happy to know I'm seen. Crazy, I know...
I just thought I would pass that tidbit of information along to those of you that like to read but might forget to check in or would find it easier to have it emailed.
